ICL Engineering Center (part of ICL Group) has completed a comprehensive project involving the installation, modernization, and integration of fire protection systems in Building 4.2, which is currently under construction. It is being built at the Synergy IT Park, the largest industrial park in Eastern Europe, located in the Alabuga Special Economic Zone of the Republic of Tatarstan.
The project was commissioned by Alabuga Development LLC, the general contractor and part of JSC Alabuga SEZ. The integrator was tasked with completing and commissioning the facility's key engineering systems to secure the official permit for occupancy of the park's office space.
Specialists at ICL Engineering Center were tasked with addressing a number of complex objectives. The scope of work included the supply and installation of an automatic fire alarm system (FAS), the modernization of the public address and voice alarm (PAVA) system, and the integration of the new systems with the client's existing infrastructure, including the access control system (ACS) and ventilation systems.
The key challenge stemmed from the building's layout. With ceiling heights exceeding 15 meters and the ceiling void crowded with ductwork and cable trays, installing and configuring the equipment proved particularly difficult. To address these challenges, the engineering team designed and implemented a solution based on linear beam smoke detectors, developing custom mounting brackets and installation methods to ensure reliable detector performance. The project also required all work to be performed in a fully operational office environment without interrupting normal business activities. All installation work was performed during nighttime hours, while ensuring strict compliance with safety requirements and protecting the client's property.
