ICL Presents Its Project of a SOC Centre to Vyacheslav Volodin, the Chairman of the State Duma of the RF

During a working visit to Kazan, Vyacheslav Volodin, the Chairman of the State Duma of the RF, came to see the Technopark of Innopolis Special Economic Zone (SEZ) where he was acquainted with its residents’ developments. Among them was the project of the own ICL SOC Centre which is planned to be launched in March of this year.

Vyacheslav Volodin, the Speaker of the State Duma of the RF, arrived in Kazan on a working visit. Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, and Roman Shaikhutdinov, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Minister of Information and Communications of the Republic of Tatarstan were also in the official delegation.

The key points of the trip were the Technopark — a high-tech ІТ park, Old Tatar Settlement, and Innopolis, a new Russian city where the Speaker of the State Duma of the RF was acquainted with the history of the city and its main objects as well as with the developments of the residents of Innopolis SEZ.

At the stand of ICL, a resident of Innopolis SEZ, a project of a Security Operation Centre (SOC- Centre) for monitoring and prevention of cyberattacks was presented to the members of the delegation. According to the specialists, active preparation of the equipment and training of the staff are carried out now. The Centre is planned to be launched in late March.

«Statistics says that 90% of enterprises learn about security incidents 7 months after the attacks. Moreover, during the period while the incident is beyond vision it carries a potential threat of critical data loss. The key objective of a SOC Centre is to timely detect and prevent the attack thus minimizing potential damage,» says Vladimir Dmitriev, Deputy Head of Information Security Products Group, ICL. «Taking into consideration the fact that implementation and support of solutions for monitoring of information security incidents by enterprise efforts are rather labor-consuming and very cost intensive processes, the so-called service model becomes more and more popular. That means that processes of detection and control of information security incidents are outsourced. This principle formed the basis for creation of the own ICL SOC Centre.»

The expert also added that it is planned to begin cooperating within the Centre with several large enterprises operating in power, oil & gas and financial sectors in the Republic of Tatarstan in the nearest future.
